I am a fine artist working in mixed media .I am equally fascinated by organic interconnected patterns and figurative art. I love the patterns that have a rhythm and expression which while distinctly recognisable, are never predictable. As a Physiotherapist I am also in awe of the human body and so, I am drawn to figures too - interesting faces or interactions with people in cityscapes.

After years of drawing patterns over my mother's accounts on the desk, my notebook covers at university, doodling in meetings, I finally started using ink pens on larger scale and then soon was tempted by paint. I have long believed that doing art "colours" my week.  I am more creative, even with decision making and seeing possibilities in other aspects of life.

In my current life I am fortunate to spend half the year in London and the other half in Johannesburg, although the Covid pandemic altered that significantly . I am moved by the multicultural presence on the streets of both these cities, and sometimes paint distinct images of people and their lives in one location and other times I unite the images- in this way I feel close to that humanity.

I feel privileged to have studied under tutors including Bill Ainslie, Linda Ballen, Mike Wald, Gregory Kerr, Wilma Shein ,Ricky Burnett. Hermann Niebuhr and Tracy Wittelson

London has opened up opportunities to continuously develop my art practice, including attending Summer School at the Slade School of Art for several years.

In recent years I have a studio in Chocolate factory 3 run by Collage Arts in Wood Green .

At this stage in my life, more time can be dedicated to making art and learning the ever-more that there is to learn and love in art.
